Cubby

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 July 2026

Draft template — final legal copy is pending review.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Cubby collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Cubby app and this website.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details — your name and email address, used to sign you in and let friends find you.
  • Your content — the tools, places, and lending records you create.
  • Connections — the friends you add and the tools you lend or borrow.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to run the Service: to store your inventory, sync it across your devices, and enable lending and borrowing with the friends you choose.

3. Where your data is stored

Cubby uses Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication) to store your account and content. Data is protected by security rules that limit access to you and the friends you share with.

4. Sharing with other users

Your tools are private by default. A tool is shown to another person only when you mark it lendable and that person is an approved friend. We don’t sell your personal information.

5. Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time. Tools you’ve lent out are flagged for the borrower and removed after a short grace period. Deleting your account removes your personal data from the Service.

6. Your choices & rights

You can view and edit your profile and content in the app, and request deletion of your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data.

7. Children’s privacy

Cubby isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
